Editorial and sourcing policy
PapersZA editorial standards for source selection, document matching, corrections, freshness and AI-readable factual content.
Primary sources first
We prefer documents published by the national Department of Basic Education, the IEB and provincial education departments. A source label on each record tells learners where the document originated.
Question paper and memo matching
Documents are matched by subject, language level, grade, year, exam session and paper number. Home Language, First Additional Language and Second Additional Language are kept separate. When a match is uncertain, we leave the memo pending rather than guess.
What we add
Our contribution is the catalogue structure, page titles, filters, study guidance, coverage facts and links between related documents. The exam documents remain the work of their issuing bodies.
Freshness and corrections
The catalogue displays its last updated date. Broken, mismatched or missing files can be reported through the contact page. Corrections are checked against an official source before publication.
Answer-engine and AI use
Our factual summaries are written to be understandable by learners and machine readers. Structured data and LLM discovery files describe the same visible facts. We do not add hidden claims, fabricated authors or FAQ markup for content that users cannot see.
